Beautiful Louis Rousselet Emerald Glass Beads Filigree Brooch, c.1950–1960, probably made for the French Haute couture. Signed: France.

Louis Rousselet (1892–1980), born in Paris, began making beads at the age of eight. In 1922, he founded his workshop in Ménilmontant, specializing in glass, galalith, and pâte de verre beads, as well as imitation pearls coated with "essence d'Orient." Renowned for his craftsmanship and innovation, he was one of the biggest Parisian Parurier until the 80s. His creations were sought after by couturiers and major fashion houses such as Chanel, Dior, Lanvin, Schiaparelli, Balenciaga,... In the US, the Rousselet collection was showcased in prestigious retailers, including Neiman Marcus. Today, the business of the Maison Rousselet is continued by his granddaughter, Caroline Rousselet.

En 1922, il fonde son atelier à Ménilmontant, spécialisé dans les perles en verre, galalithe et pâte de verre, ainsi que dans les perles imitant les perles naturelles recouvertes d'"essence d'Orient". Reconnu pour son savoir-faire et son innovation, ses créations étaient prisées par des couturiers et de grandes maisons comme Chanel, Dior, Lanvin, Schiaparelli, Balenciaga... Aux Etats-Unis, la collection Rousselet était notamment présentée chez Neiman Marcus.
Aujourd'hui, l'activité de la Maison Rousselet est poursuivie par sa petite-fille, Caroline Rousselet.
