Roger Jean-Pierre was one of the most renowned paruriers of 20th-century haute couture. In the 1930s, he served as Commercial Director at Roger Model and Jean Clément, where he often managed relations with Schiaparelli with great diplomacy. It was there that he learned modeling techniques. He later became Director at Francis Winter, a parurier active from 1947 to 1958, where he worked for numerous couture houses including Balenciaga, Dior, Grès, and Balmain. The company Roger Jean-Pierre was founded in 1959.
From 1960 onward, he received awards in recognition of his work and his role in promoting the profession of parure. He abruptly ended his career in 1976. His right-hand man, Jacques Elophe, subsequently took over the house of René Le Marchand, which specialized in the production of buttons and designer bags, mainly for Givenchy, Nina Ricci, and Cartier.
